CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT?

It’s the part you’ve been dreading, the infamous speeches. Generally they follow a very specific order: after dinner, the toastmaster (usually you as best man) asks for everyone to quiet down and introduces the first speaker. First, the bride’s father will speak, followed by the groom, and then comes your shining moment.

Speech length:
This doesn’t have to be an epic in 3 parts. Keep it short, around 400-500 words and running 4-5 minutes in length.

What to write:
Anyone can blab on for 5 minutes but how do you ensure you’ve done it right? As best man your job is to respond on behalf of the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
